Welcome back to Killeen National School! This year we have many new students. A warm welcome to them and their parents. We hope they get on well with others. New students shall have a great time during their time in our school.
Last Friday, the 5th and 6th class went up to the the garden to fix the overgrown weeds, painted the benches, fixed the flower beds, polytunnel and the sensory beds etc.. First, they were put into groups. There were 2-4 in each group. Now the flower beds are more awake then ever!
Hurling has stared again this year with Ryan from Juniors to sixth- Rugby is also starting soon on the 5th of November. The 4th to 6th class had a Gaelic match on Tuesday the 16th. In disappointment we lost to Kinnitty but we will win the next one!
Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First and Second had a yoga class with Ms.Harding. 1st and 2nd also had show and tell with Mrs. Parsons. Some brought in toys, others brought in their special things, including teddys, etc.
Every Friday, from 2nd class up, we do a Grúpa Cheoil. Some play piano, tin whistle, flute, accordian and guitar. We learn a new song most of the time while other times we go back over to perfect the song. So make sure you bring in your instrument every Friday! 🙂
We’ll be back with you next week, Enjoy! 😀
